Horsetail extract is the dried whole plant extract of Equisetumarvense L., which contains various chemical components such as phenolic acids, flavonoids, glycosides and alkaloids. It has the effects of inhibiting the nervous system, protecting the liver, lowering blood pressure, lowering blood lipids and being a diuretic.

Pharmacological effects
1. Diuretic effect
The alcohol-soluble components and liquid extract of the fresh whole plant have a diuretic effect, but it is not strong.

2. Impact on the circulatory system
Intravenous injection of water decoction (1:2) into rabbits and dogs can cause a decrease in blood pressure and reflex respiratory excitement.
