Product Profile
L-cysteine hydrochloride is colorless to white crystal or crystalline powder with a slight special odor and sour taste. The melting point is 175ºC (decomposition). Soluble in water, the aqueous solution is acidic, the pH value of 1% solution is about 1.7, and the pH value of 0.1% solution is about 2.4. It is also soluble in alcohol, ammonia and acetic acid, but insoluble in ether, acetone, benzene, etc. It has reducing properties, has the characteristics of antioxidant and preventing non-enzymatic browning.

Chemical Properties
White crystal or crystalline powder, slightly odorous, sour taste, easily soluble in water, ammonia, acetic acid, slightly soluble in ethanol, acetone, ethyl acetate, benzene, carbon disulfide, and carbon tetrachloride. It is stable to acid, but is easily oxidized to cystine by air in neutral or slightly alkaline solutions. Trace amounts of iron and heavy metal ions can promote oxidation. Its hydrochloride is relatively stable, so it is generally made into hydrochloride. L-cysteine is a sulfur-containing non-essential amino acid. In vivo, it is synthesized by replacing the hydroxyl oxygen atom of serine with the sulfur atom of methionine and using sulfide. L-cysteine can generate glutathione, participate in the reduction process of cells and phospholipid metabolism in the liver, protect liver cells from damage, stimulate hematopoietic function, increase white blood cells, and promote the repair of skin damage. Its mp is 175ºC, decomposition temperature is 175ºC, isoelectric point is 5.07, [α]25D-16.5(H2O), [α]25D+6.5(5mol/L, HCl).
