Product Description

Semen Persicae is the dry and mature seed of peach or mountain peach in the Rosaceae family. It is mainly produced in Sichuan, Yunnan, Shaanxi, Shandong, Hebei, Shanxi, Henan and other places. The seeds of plants of the same genus are also used as peach kernels in Tibet. Bitter, sweet, neutral in nature, enters the heart, liver and large intestine meridians. White or brown solid powder can be obtained from peach kernels through water extraction, alcohol extraction or low-temperature preparation. Commercially available peach kernel extracts generally come in two specifications: 10:1 and 20:1. Peach kernel extract has the effect of breaking blood and removing blood stasis, moistening dryness and smoothing the intestines. It can be used to treat amenorrhea, abscesses, febrile disease, blood accumulation, wind paralysis, malaria, bruises, blood stasis, swelling and pain, dryness of blood and constipation.

Pharmacological effects
Peach kernels and peach kernel extracts have the effects of activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis, anti-inflammatory effects, anti-allergic effects, antitussive effects, and laxative effects. The fatty oil (almond oil) in peach kernels has an insect repellent effect. The alcohol extract of peach kernel has anticoagulant effect and weak hemolytic effect.
