Function and effect
1. Effect on the central nervous system
A small dose of Angelica dahurica extract can excite the respiratory center, vasomotor center and vagus nerve of the oblongata, thereby enhancing breathing, raising blood pressure and slowing down the pulse. It has a therapeutic effect on the central nervous system depression caused by snake venom after snake bites.
2. Hemostatic effect
Angelica dahurica extract can significantly shorten or reduce the bleeding time, bleeding volume, coagulation time and prothrombin time of animals. The coagulation mechanism may be related to affecting certain aspects of the coagulation process, such as thrombin factors.
3. Effect on the uterus
Angelica dahurica extract has anti-estrogenic activity and has an inhibitory effect on the isolated uterus of animals, manifesting as uterine muscle relaxation and reduced contraction amplitude.
4. Antibacterial effect
In vitro tests show that 10% Angelica dahurica decoction has a certain inhibitory effect on Escherichia coli, Shigella dysenteriae, Typhimurium, Proteus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Cholera bacteria, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, etc. Ringworm, etc. also have a certain inhibitory effect.
5. Anti-cancer effect
The extracts of Angelica dahurica, isopretin and white angelica, have cytotoxic effects on human cervical cancer HeLa cells. The ED50 of isopretin is 100 μg/ml. The water extract of Angelica dahurica can promote the production of interferon in the body and has anti-tumor effects.
6. Hepatoprotective effect
Parsley B isolated from Angelica dahurica has the effect of inhibiting concanavalin A-induced hepatitis.
7. Effect on pathogenic microorganisms
Angelica dahurica extract has antibacterial effects and has varying degrees of inhibitory effects on bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Shigella dysenteriae, Typhimurium, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Gram-positive bacteria and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Angelica dahurica water infusion has a good inhibitory effect on skin fungal infections.
8. Effect on skin
Angelica dahurica has an inhibitory effect on tyrosine, so it can be used for skin whitening. In addition, the ether-soluble components of Angelica dahurica can be used to treat freckles and can expand arteries to allow blood to flow on the face, thereby improving blood circulation. Studies have shown that the extract of Angelica dahuricae can also effectively remove O2-· and ·OH. It can not only prevent O2-·, the source of free radical production, but also remove ·OH, which has the strongest oxidation effect. From another aspect, it proves that Angelica dahuricae has effective antioxidant mechanism.
9. Effect on smooth muscle
Angelica dahurica has an antispasmodic effect. Studies have found that the ether-soluble components of angelica can inhibit the small intestinal activity of normal rabbits and can antagonize the rabbit ankylosis model caused by physostigmine and neostigmine. The water-soluble components also inhibit the spontaneous movement of the isolated rabbit small intestine and antagonize the rabbit intestinal muscle tonic contraction model induced by barium chloride.
10.Other functions
Bic angelica has the effect of dilating coronary arteries; Yunnan Angelica coumarin has an inhibitory effect on asthma caused by histamine constant pressure spray in guinea pigs, has anti-inflammatory effects on egg white arthritis and formaldehyde arthritis in rats, and also has an anti-inflammatory effect. It has analgesic effect; the aqueous extract and alcohol precipitate of Angelica dahurica and Ligusticum chuanxiong can alleviate the contraction of isolated trachea in guinea pigs caused by acetylcholine, and can antagonize the swelling of rat paws caused by egg white; oral administration of Angelica dahurica and Ligusticum chuanxiong under dark conditions can significantly inhibit lymphocyte DNA ( DNA) synthesis, it is speculated that it may also inhibit the synthesis of DNA in psoriasis epidermal cells.
