Product Profile
Catharanthus roseus (Linn.) G. Don's whole plant extract is the Catharanthus roseus (Linn.) G. Donca plant of the Apocynaceae family. Catharanthus roseus, also known as Yanlaihong, RiRixin, Four Seasons Spring, Thirty Thousand Flowers, etc., is mainly produced in Hainan, Yunnan, Guangdong, Guangxi and other places in China.
Catharanthus roseus has a slightly bitter taste and cool nature. It returns to the liver meridian and has the effects of detoxifying, clearing away heat and calming the liver. Catharanthus roseus extract is rich in terpenoid alkaloids, dimeric indole alkaloids, monoindole alkaloids and other alkaloids and flavonoids. It is effective against various tumors, hypertension, carbuncle sores, burns, malaria, and diarrhea. It has therapeutic effects on Hodgkin's disease and Hodgkin's disease, and also has pharmacological activities such as hypoglycemia and diuresis.
Functions
1. Anti-cancer effect
Both vinblastine and vincristine have anti-cancer effects.
2. Antihypertensive effect
Intravenous injection of Catharanthus roseus total alkali has a hypotensive effect on anesthetized cats and rabbits. The blood pressure drops rapidly, which is different from the slow blood pressure lowering of Rauwolfia total alkali preparations. The blood pressure reduction is accompanied by deepening of breathing and the amplitude becomes larger; Cutting off the vagus nerve or using atropine does not affect its antihypertensive effect. Total base also has the effect of dilating coronary blood vessels (it is an antispasmodic ganglion blocking agent).
3. Hypoglycemic effect
Foreign folk use periwinkle leaves and whole plants to treat diabetes. Vinblastine, epoxyvinblastine, vinblastine and tetrahydrofuranine isolated from Catharanthus roseus all have varying degrees of hypoglycemic effects, starting slowly but lastingly. The aqueous extract of the leaves can also lower blood sugar in normal and alloxan-induced diabetic rabbits and dogs.
4. Diuretic effect
5.Other functions
Catharanthus roseus has no excitatory effect on the isolated uterus and intestines, but has an inhibitory effect on the isolated heart in large doses. It has been introduced abroad that it can be used as a hemostatic agent during uterine bleeding, and its root can be used for abortion. All its alkaloid parts have varying degrees of antibacterial activity. Regarding the plant morphology, chemical composition, pharmacological effects, extraction and isolation, modern applications, toxic and side effects of Catharanthus roseus extract
Functional indications
Anti-cancer, lower blood pressure. Used for hypertension, malignant lymphogranuloma, chorioepithelial carcinoma, acute lymphoblastic leukemia, childhood lymphoid leukemia and other diseases.
