Xiebai is a traditional Chinese medicine. It is the dried bulb of garlic or Xiebai, a plant in the Liliaceae family. It tastes pungent, bitter, and is warm in nature. It enters the heart, lungs, stomach, and large intestine meridians. It has the effects of clearing yang, dispersing stagnation, and promoting qi and stagnation. It is mainly used to treat chest pain, abdominal distention, severe diarrhea, sore throat and other symptoms. It can be used to treat chest pain due to phlegm-dampness blockage and chest yang deficiency when combined with Trichosanthes trichosanthes, Pinellia ternata and Citrus aurantium.
