Coix seed extract is the dried and mature seed kernel extract of Coixlachryma-jobi L.var.mayuen (Roman.) Stapf., a grass plant. It mainly contains protein, fatty acids, sugars, a small amount of vitamin B1, leucine, and lysine. , arginine, tyrosine, coixin, coixyl, coixolactone, α-β-sitosterol, triterpene compounds. It has the effects of diuresis and dampness, clearing away heat and pus, strengthening the spleen and stopping diarrhea, removing paralysis and reducing swelling. Used for edema, athlete's foot, dysuria, dampness and spasm, spleen deficiency and diarrhea, lung abscess, intestinal abscess, and flat warts.

Function
1. Anti-cancer effect
Coix seed ethanol extract can inhibit the proliferation of Ehrlich ascites cancer cells and significantly prolong the survival time of mice. In the early days, coix seed ester was considered to be an effective anti-cancer ingredient. Now analysis has confirmed that unsaturated fatty acid (linoleic acid) is the main Anti-cancer ingredients.

2. Inhibitory effect on the central nervous system
Coix seed aqueous extract has an inhibitory effect on pain in mice (hot plate method). Coixin has sedative, analgesic, antipyretic and cooling effects when injected intraperitoneally into mice. Intravenous injection has a sedative effect on mice and rabbits and can inhibit polysynaptic reflexes.

3. Lower blood sugar, blood calcium and blood pressure effects
Subcutaneous injection of ether extract of coix seed (coix seed oil) into rabbits can reduce blood sugar and blood calcium levels.
