Propolis flavonoids is a general term for the flavonoids contained in natural propolis. Propolis flavonoids are the main efficacy component of propolis, and the level of propolis flavonoid content is the main indicator of propolis quality.
At present, more than 20 kinds of flavonoids have been isolated from propolis, which is the main active substance in propolis accounting for about 4.13% of propolis. These flavonoid compounds include flavonoids, flavonols and dihydroflavonoids. The flavonoids include poplarin, poplar bud yellow, acerin, apigenin, willow punctalin, etc.; the flavonols include leucoxanthin, galloxanthin, rhamnetin, isorhamnetin, rhamnocitrin, kaempferol, kaempferol, quercetin and its derivatives, etc. The dihydroflavonoids include choronin, pine bulb, cherry blossom, isorhamnetin, naringenin, etc. From propolis, the unique active ingredients, 5,7-dihydroxy-3`,4`-dimethylflavone and 5-hydroxy-4`,7-dimethoxy dihydroflavone, which are only found in propolis in nature, were discovered for the first time.
