Extraction Source
Fucus is a brown algae that clings to rocks on the shore. It grows on the coast of Brittany, France, where marine life is abundant, and can be harvested at low tide. Its algae are dark brown, bifurcated and branched, with flat horn-like leaves.

The algae are perennial, flat or cylindrical, bifurcated or radially branched around the main trunk. Apical growth, with several disc-shaped pigment bodies in each epidermal cell.
