Product Profile
Thyme extract is the whole plant extract of Thymus mongolicus Ronn., a plant of the Lamiaceae family. Thyme is commonly known as ground pepper. The whole plant has aroma and mild spiciness. It is fresh and charming. Its fragrance is praised as "the paradise of dawn". Mainly contains volatile oils, flavonoids, triterpenoids, organic acids, trace elements, etc. It has antibacterial, anti-fat oxidation, anti-tumor and anti-thrombotic effects, and can be used as pharmaceutical raw materials for related pharmaceutical preparations. Thyme extract is widely used in essential oil production, edible products and daily cosmetics.

Function
1. Antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects
Thyme extract and thyme essential oil have regulatory and control effects on Aeromonas bacteria during vegetable processing. Thyme aromatic oil has varying degrees of inhibitory effects on Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli. In addition, thyme extract can also inhibit the proliferation of bacteria during the refrigeration process of Chinese sausages.
2. Antioxidant effect
Thyme methanol extract has one of the strongest antioxidant activities among all extracts collected from wild plants. The antioxidant capacity of thyme aromatic oil when added to 1200mg/kg is close to that of 200mg/kg dibutyltoluene (BHT), without affecting the color and smell of soybean oil. Using the scavenging effect of diphenylpicrylhydrazyl radical (DPPH) as an indicator, the evaluation results of the antioxidant effect of volatile oils from 16 kinds of plants including thyme showed that among these 16 kinds of plants, thyme volatile oil has a moderate antioxidant effect. Thyme extract also has certain anti-fat oxidation effects. Research shows that thyme (Thymus vulgaris L.) has stronger antioxidant properties than the known antioxidants vitamin E and BHT.
3.Other functions
Thyme volatile oil has anti-allergic effects and has a certain therapeutic effect on allergic rhinitis and allergic dermatitis; it has an inhibitory effect on tumors and can effectively improve immunity; it can also inhibit the formation of thrombus and relax the smooth muscle of isolated rabbit intestines. It can antagonize the contraction of intestinal smooth muscle caused by acetylcholine and relieve the spasm of isolated guinea pig tracheal smooth muscle caused by histamine.
