Product Description

In 1999, quercetin and dental materials, saccharin and its salt were included in the list of three types of carcinogens by the World Health Organization, along with tea and chlorinated drinking water, and in 2017, the Safety Evaluation Institute of the China Institute of Food and Drug Control made a preliminary list accordingly. In 2010, the FDA recognized quercetin from natural products as GRAS. Quercetin as anti-apoptosis, antioxidant can play a protective role in a variety of organ damage, as well as anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral, lowering blood sugar, lowering blood pressure, regulating immune function and cardiovascular protection. The main food sources of quercetin intake in China are apples, green tea, oranges, pears and green vegetables.

 

Quercetin is widely present in the stem skin, flowers, leaves, buds, seeds and fruits of many plants, mostly in the form of glycosides, such as rutin, quercetin, hypericin, etc. Quercetin can be obtained by acid hydrolysis. Among them, the content is higher in the stem and leaves of buckwheat, sea buckthorn, hawthorn and onion.
