Papaya (scientific name: Pseudocydonia sinensis (Thouin) C. K. Schneid.) is a plant of the family Rosaceae and the genus Papaya. Distributed in Shandong, Shaanxi, Hubei, Jiangxi, Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Guangdong, Guangxi and other places.
Papaya is not shade-tolerant, and likes a sunny, rainfall, and warm environment, and likes a semi-dry and semi-humid soil environment. The soil requirements are not strict, but sandy loam soil with deep soil layer, loose and fertile, and rich in organic matter is better.
Papaya is listed in the first batch of "medicine and food of the same origin" in the country.
