Chaga is a sterile fruiting body that is nearly spherical or indefinitely massive. The diameter is 7~36cm, the surface is hard, yellowish brown to black, and there are small pieces with obvious unevenness and cracking. The flesh of the bacteria is yellowish brown, and the mycelium is a secondary mycelial system. Reproductive hyphae are light yellow, septated, without lock-like joints, 4-6 μm in diameter.
