Honeysuckle, the name of traditional Chinese medicine. It is the dry flower bud or the first flower of Lonicera japonica Thunb.
Plant honeysuckle is mostly distributed in East China, Central South, Southwest and Hebei, Shanxi, Liaoning, Shaanxi, Gansu and other places; South China honeysuckle is mostly distributed in Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan; wild honeysuckle is distributed in Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan , Guangdong, Guangxi, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Taiwan, etc.; yellow-brown honeysuckle is distributed in Guangxi, Guizhou, and Yunnan.
It has the effect of clearing heat and detoxifying. Indications for exogenous wind-heat or fever due to febrile disease, heatstroke, heat-toxin bloody dysentery, carbuncle and furuncle, sore throat, and various infectious diseases.
